BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
If you are the
pitcher on a baseball team or the quarterback on a football team there is
only a possibility that you will throw a strike or a touchdown pass. A
human only has a possibility of life without sickness or injury. A
student only has a possibility of making an A on their next test.
Depending on your outlook on life there is only the possibility that anything will possibly
happen. That is where you and I come into this possibility picture. With
unlimited possibilities facing us on a daily basis our decision making is
more than just important. Heart related problems frighten all of us but we control the
good or bad possibilities that
influence our possibility of having heart problems.
Your outlook on life is possibly
dependent on who you associate with. Lay down with dogs and you have an
excellent possibility of getting fleas, walk with kings and you increase
your possibility of elevating your social status, talk with disgruntled
people and you possibly become depressed, associate with happy people and
joy will possibly come into your life. Science proves, and this is not a
possibility, that we have mirror neurons that positively or negatively
effect us as mirrored by whomever we are talking to.
Dr. Robert Maurer states,
"It has been said that the only constant is change. I don't agree with
that. There's another constant and that's the desire to change."
You ask someone, "Where are you going with that shovel"? and they
reply, "To dig a ditch" "Why"? you ask, and they reply,
"To earn money" "Why"? "To buy food"
"Why"? "To stay strong" "Why"? "To dig a
ditch". You have to ask yourself is that person doing anything to
possibly get out of that cycle of hard labor?
You are directly in control
of your possibilities. That pitcher or quarterback increases their possibility
of throwing a strike or a touchdown with perfect practice. Notice, I did not
say practice but rather perfect practice. 100 or 1,000 pitches or
throws without knowing how to improve each pitch does not increase
your possibility of later throwing a strike or touchdown.
Many of us have things
backward. We believe that we have to wait to create the circumstances we want
in life. We hope to rack up a lot of successful possibilities in life so
we can sit back at a later date and time and relax. Actually, it works the
other way. We should do those things now that will make good life
possibilities happen. Don't put off happiness that may possibly never come
around or we possibly won't be able to enjoy anything at a later date and
time.
Example: Harvard Medical
School research indicates that, "Exercise may (possibility) reduce
the beta-amyloid deposits in the brain that are believed to cause
Alzheimer's." O.K., The Harvard research is only a possibility but,
as for me, I will use that information from one of the greatest medical
institutions in the world as a very good possibility. I will exercise and
exercise regularly.
The most crippling failure disease is - excuses. The two most power filled
words are -"I can". You and I know that we become better at
anything and everything the minute we decide to become better. What are you
going to do "now" to increase your good life possibilities? Make
your good life possibility list now and throw away your poor life
possibility list without delay.
